What are Demo, Certified Pre-owned (CPO), New and Refurbished Smartphones?
Demo Smartphones are no different to a brand new phone but at a fraction of the cost. They are in like-new condition with minimal / no marks on them with full functionality and working like new. They come in their original box (unless its condition was unsuitable a plain box will be provided) and contain all their original parts and unless specified all the original unused accessories. Their batteries are basically unused and as good as new.The only difference from a brand new product is the box has been opened and the manufacturer warranty may not be claimed. Refurbished Smartphones are equivalent to new devices, reconditioned to ‘Factory New’ states. These devices are in ‘as new’ condition with minimal / no marks on them. Refurbished devices are thoroughly tested and quality checked to guarantee to function as new. Packaging may be provided in a customised box with a generic high-quality charging cable and 2-pin USB wall plug. A TechExchange 6-month warranty and 7-day guarantee are sold with all of our Refurbished products.
Certified Pre-owned / CPO Smartphones are purchased through reputable channels and are in either Excellent or Very Good conditions and will be stated in the product descriptions if any marks or knocks are on the device. CPO devices are fully tested and quality checked to guarantee to function as new. Packaging may be provided in a customised box with a high-quality charging cable. A 6 month Techexchange warranty and 7-day guarantee are sold with all of our CPO products.
New imported iPhones which are older discontinued models are refurbished to New and function and look brand new. They are packaged in their original boxes with original accessories and sold with a 6 month Techexchange warranty. Their parts are a combination of original Apple parts but batteries and display may be replaced with Grade A parts if they required replacing. This will in no way hinder their quality and functionality but if you are not satisfied we offer a 7 day guarantee to replace or refund your New iPhone within the first 7 days of receiving it. Any hardware issues not caused by damage will be covered by our Techexchange warranty. Please note in some cases the serial number may not match the device and packaging but the IMEI number will be the same for insurance purposes.

The following criteria are met when testing Demo, CPO and Refurbished phones
- Buttons: All buttons/switches work (volume up and down, silence, lock screen).
- Cameras: Camera(s) work (front and back).
- Software, Data and Settings: The device is reset to factory settings with the latest version of the Operating System (iOS or Android).
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi works (can connect to a Wi-Fi network) Single call made (using a SIM card and not a VoIP call).
- Bluetooth PC Connection works (can connect to a laptop/PC).
- GPS and Compass: The GPS and compass functions work accurately.
- Power On: Device Powers on (without external power – i.e. without charging)
- Battery Health: Cycles less than 700 & Capacity 85% of OEM battery. Device charges when connected to external power.
- Sensors: All sensors work properly.
- Microphones / Speakers / Headphones: All microphones/speakers work (primary and secondary) Headset / earphones connection works.
- Touch Screen/Home Button: Finger Touch / Touch ID works.
- Vibration: Device vibration works.
- Hardware / Housing / LCD: No wear and tear damage that is visible to the naked eye from 20cm away. The device is clean and looks as good as new.
